Random Question

Why do I sleep better when I get in a bed that was made up that morning than one that was just neatly folded back?  After my cleaning spree on Wednesday I woke up Thursday with my back still hurting.  It was hard to bend down.  I even had my sweet husband put lotion on my legs because it was so uncomfortable.  So, as a part of my summer routine I went to go make the bed.  I decided that I would just neatly fold the sheet/comforter back because I didn't want to have to take the pillows off the bed.  Taken the pillows off would mean I would have to bend down.  Yes, this sounds so lazy, but I'm pregnant!  So, I went to bed last night and the bed just didn't feel right.   Granted I know my hormones are probably raging right now, but I got so hot.  That hasn't happen when I go to sleep in a bed that has been made.  I'm not sure why, but I truly believe that a made bed is much cooler than an unmade bed.  I've been awake since 3:00 AM due to being uncomfortable, hot, and a brain that wouldn't settle down.

Lesson of the day...Make the bed!

Symptoms: I really only have had a backache when I get up from laying in bed for long periods.  I'm slow to get out of the bed to go to the bathroom the many times throughout the night.
Best Moments this week:
We went to the doctor Wednesday and we got to hear her heartbeat again.  There is something so sweet about that sound.
Donny helped me with a few things in the nursery.  I cannot wait for her bedding to get here.  It should be here by August 12.
I also got the first item with Cora Jane's name on it.  It was so cute.  (See previous post.)

Happy Birthday Cody!

Friday was my brother's 25th birthday.  I took him and Danielle to lunch.  But we celebrated again on Saturday night with dinner at Outback.  No one had given him any gifts so he had made comments about not having any gifts, but little did he know that we had a huge surprise for him.
The Auburn National Championship painting by Daniel M0ore.
He was trying to pretend that we weren't up to something.

I think this picture is so cute!

Sneak Peek

Here are a few pictures of a few things in Cora Jane's nursery.  I cannot wait until her bedding gets here.  I will post a video and more pictures when everything is finally in place.
This is some of the fabric in the bedding.

Love this!

Have a guess?

I've been sewing the past two days.  I've had so much fun.  Here are a few pictures of the outfits.  I also purchased the blankie from Etsy.  I know I could have made a tag blanket, but for once I wanted someone else to do it.

I'm going to try to add a ribbon and a bow.  I love these and I will be making some more.  They are so easy!

This is the first item with her name on it!  It is a tag blankie.

The Month of June

June was a very busy month for us.  I haven't taken the time to document the events, but I'm doing to do a list so that I will have a record of the happenings of June:
  • We had our monthly OB appointment.  I was so nervous because I wanted to hear her heart beat.  It sounded perfect!
  • We dropped the calves off that we fed out at the processors.
  • Donny and I left for a last minute trip to the beach.  We had a great time with friends and enjoyed the white sand.
  • We celebrated our third year of marriage.  Donny took me out to eat and to a movie.  We also bought a Wi!.  I can't seem to beat my husband at many of the games, but I practice secretly.
  • Donny and I got wrapped up in the College World Series.  We planned meals around the games and would send text to update scores when we out.  It was great to see the SEC represented with Florida and South Carolina.
  • In May we broke down and ordered a king size bed.  My brother helped Donny move furniture.  Donny like the fact that he doesn't have my knee in his back anymore.  We also got Cora Jane's crib.
  • Because I'm a planner and I want to have Cora Jane's room ready as soon as possible Donny and I cleaned out her room and he put her crib up.
  • Donny chauffeured me and three other women to the Bama Rising concert that raised over two million dollars for tornado relief.  It was an amazing event and I'm thrilled that we got to be apart of it.  The concert started at 7:30 and we left the BJCC at roughly 1:15 AM.
  • We had our appointment with the high risk OB doctor that did an echo of Cora Jane's heart.  Our prayers were answered when he said it looked perfect.  I also asked for confirmation that we had a little girl in there.
  • My mom is building a house and it is almost finished.
  • I helped Donny, Cody, Jason, and Jack work the calves.  It was a very eventful and somewhat stressful day.  We all survived, but we had several first on the farm that day.
  • I have my classroom for the most part ready for the beginning of school and plan to enjoy the month of July reading, sewing, and relaxing.

27 Weeks!

I'm 27 weeks!
Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 27 Weeks

Size of baby: Cora Jane is the size of an eggplant.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I've gained 14 pounds and I feel it!!!!

Maternity Clothes: I have to wash clothes often.  I'm sure my family is tired of seeing the same clothes, but I have a limited amount.
Gender: It's a GIRL! Cora Jane (double name)

Stretch Marks: Thankfully none yet!

Belly button in or out: It is still in, but it won't be long!

Movement: She is very active after I eat a meal.  She has some body part stuck under my right rib cage.
Sleep: Last week I didn't sleep very well.  I was waking up very early, sometime between the hours of 3AM and 6AM, and not able to go back to sleep.  I did take a few naps last week.

What I miss: I miss my SLEEP!!
Cravings: I still drink my lemonade everyday, but I also craved Fireh0use Subs!

Symptoms: Oh, how my hips hurt.  I think that this had a lot to do with me losing sleep.

Best Moment this week: The best moments of the week:
  • We went for our reglular check up and everything is looking great.  I PASSED THE SUGAR TEST!!!  Yeah!!!  It is hard to believe that after our next doctor visit we start our two week visits.  Only 13 more weeks before we get to meet our little girl!!!
  • We got the chair for Cora Jane's room.  I can not wait to have her room ready.

We started our rotations within the OB practice and our doctor this month was the doctor that delivered the sextuplets.  I'll be honest I wasn't very excited about having to see other doctors, but I was very impressed with Dr. McKenzie.  He was super nice and very informative.  And we got to see his humerous side.  He was finishing up with us and he made the comment that after they deliever the baby the doctor's like to pray over the baby and that most of those babies grow up to be Alabama fans.  He then asked, "Will this be a problem with y'all?"  Of course we told him that it would be a problem (Donny had his Auburn hat on.)  Then after he walked out of the room and called us out in the hallway.  He made us promise that we wouldn't be offended.  He walks us to the bullentin board with birth annoucements and Christmas cards.  He proceeds to explain that this was his families Christmas card and the picture on the front was the photo that his sweet wife approved of, which was a nice family picture.  He then flips open the card and it is a picture of his entire family dressed in Oregon Duck attire while each one of them is holding up their hands in the form of an "O."  He said that he caught a little grief from the Auburn fans with that picture.  I game him credit and said that it was very clever.
